November in the Classroom!

We have been doing lots of activities around numbers and letters this month. We have talked about the different numbers and letters that we recognise, we have also been developing our fine motor skills by making marks and practising writing our letters that are in our name.

In the garden we have been developing our listening and attention skills by playing the stop and go game with traffic light pictures. We had to listen very carefully to what Auntie was saying so we could follow the instructions.

As it was bonfire night we made lots of colourful pictures in the messy room using various different materials including coloured paper, paint and lots of glitter! We talked about all the different fireworks we saw in the sky and what kind of sound they made.

We have show an interest in the ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ story and had had lots of fun exploring the sensory builders tray Auntie had set up. We developed our imagination by using the play people to walk across the various crossings on the tray. We used a mixture of different materials to create water, grass and mud. We also looked through the book and turned the page when we got to each crossing.

To develop our mark making skills further we used different resources including natural resources, including mud!

In the nature area we have spent time making dens. We worked together and talked about what we would need to make our den stay up. We talked about going camping and what we would like to take with us when we go camping.

Its been a very busy month with lots of learning taking place!
