August in the Toddler room !

This month we have enjoyed exploring a variety of activities from mark making to imaginative play. We followed a simple recipe to make our very own play dough, adding flour, oil, salt and water to a bowl and kneading it together. We then made birthday cakes for our friends using different resources to represent the candles. We built our own train track, carefully balancing the pieces on blocks to make bridges. We loved making marks with the chalk, using number language to count how many we made. We sang “row row” as we rocked on the sea-saws, engaged in imaginative small world play as we explored the dinosaur tray and filled and emptied containers in the sand with good accuracy.
