January in the Toddler room
This month we have been making our own playdough, we are starting to remember what we need, to make it.
We have explored the snowy and frosty weather! we made footprints and handprints and felt the snow crunching under our feet. We said it was very cold and noticed that the ice dripped, Auntie explained it was melting. Our sand had also frozen and we had fun trying to break it up with the spades and scoops.
We have been exploring cereal and been filling and emptying containers using both our hands and scoops. We also used the hammers to try and break the cereal.
Shredded paper was a great way to look at colours and size, we had fun putting it on our heads and pretending to have new hair! We discussed the colours and if it was long, big or small. We also enjoyed hiding and finding items in the paper.
This month saw us show care for living things, while playing in the mud area we found a worm and looked after it, We made chocolate mud soup and cakes. In the home corner we made beds for the dolls and changed their nappies.
