September

September in the Classroom has seen us welcoming all of our new children and encouraging their independence. The children have been encouraged to find their own pegs and self-register in the mornings. Children are beginning to recognise their own names and some have even started to write some recognisable letters! To continue promoting independence, children have been helping to serve their friends snack and tidy up afterwards.
Our theme this month has been ‘All About Me’ and the children have decorated the room with their beautiful self portraits. We have also discussed who is in our families, our favourite things, and what we want to be when we grow up during our circle times. We have been looking at our heights and our hand sizes and using terms like “short” and “tall” and comparing our similarities and differences to our friends.
Finally, we have spent a lot of time in the outdoors exploring the Seasonal changes such as the weather getting colder and the leaves falling off of the trees. We can’t wait to continue exploring these changes and finding new exciting ways to play.
