Our Learning and Adventures This Month šŸŽƒšŸ©·

This month, we have enjoyed exploring a variety of exciting activities, developing new skills and learning through play.
We explored our pompom tray, where the children had opportunities to practice counting, sorting and recognising colours. Using different tools and their fingers to pick up and move the pompoms helped to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration. These activities also encouraged the children to interact with one another, share resources and develop their communication and social skills.
With Halloween approaching, we explored the tradition of pumpkin carving. We talked about the different shapes, colours and textures of pumpkins and discussed how we can transform them into spooky Halloween decorations. This provided opportunities to develop language, express ideas and learn about seasonal celebrations. We then got creative and designed our own pumpkin pictures using tissue paper, pens, templates and card, encouraging imagination, creativity and independent mark-making.
We also enjoyed celebrating Pink Week! 🩷 The children explored all things pink while learning about the importance of raising money for charity and helping others. We investigated different shades of pink and enjoyed a range of sensory experiences, including exploring pink water and foam. These activities encouraged curiosity, sensory exploration and descriptive language as the children shared their discoveries.
Our creative activities continued as we experimented with paints and a variety of tools to create our own pumpkins and spooky ghosts. The children explored different ways of making marks, mixing colours and applying paint, developing their creativity, imagination and fine motor control.
It has been a wonderful month full of creativity, sensory discoveries, social interactions and exciting learning opportunities. We look forward to seeing what adventures next month brings! šŸ‚
