October Fun!

This month in the Toddler room we have been outside exploring the big garden practicing our gross motor skills and balancing. We enjoyed running around and playing with the bats and balls. We made the best of the rain and jumped in puddles, adding water and bubbles to the builders tray to see what happened when we jumped. While in the nature area we also found spiders, ladybirds and wood louse. There was roadworks happening on the main road so we went out to look at the digger, we talked about what it might be doing and looked at the shapes and noticed the wheels weren’t round.
We also took part in pink week to raise money for breast cancer. We dressed in pink and did lots of pink activities. We had lots of different sensory activities. These included pink foam which smelt like strawberries and pink water which smelt like raspberry. We had pink sand and made lots of pink pictures.
This month also saw our stay play where parents joined us to see what a day at nursery is really like for children, we made milk bottle pumpkins and explored the Halloween figures in rice.
