May in the Toddler room!
This month we showed lots of interest in flowers, talking about the textures, scents and colours we could see. We collected them from all around the garden and carefully threaded them into the holes on the card board to create some lovely collages. We then decided to open a “flower shop” selling our flowers to our friends for “money”, showing great turn taking skills. We added our flowers to the coloured water to create “potions”. We also added scented tea bags and lemon slices to squeeze, strengthening our fine motor muscles.

We enjoyed exploring the big garden, taking risks by climbing on the big climbing frame. We was aware of our own limits, stopping and reaching out to auntie for help when we was too high. We also talked about prepositions going “ under, over, through, behind and inside”.

We accessed the number threading game, practicing our counting skills. Some of us were able to recognise the numbers and count the dots too.

We enjoyed experimenting with colours, sounds and textures when painting rocks we had collected from the nature area. We talked about the shapes and sizes and compared different sounds when we rolled or dropped them on the bubble wrap.
