September in the Toddler room!

This month the children have shown a lot of interest in the outdoors. We have enjoyed exploring the mud kitchen, threading stones onto sticks. We counted each stone and talked about the textures and colours too. We also found a wiggly worm! We talked about being kind to the worm, where it might live and what it might like to eat. We picked leaves from the trees to feed it and gave it a tiny drink of water too.

We made some lovely play dough, mixing all the ingredients together to create a very bright pink colour! We kneaded the dough into some “cakes” and placed them into the “oven” to bake, giving them out to our friends.

We have also enjoyed dancing with the ribbons to music, collecting leaves and making a variety of marks with the pens and pencils.
