January in the Classroom!

We have had a very busy January. We have spent time in the garden exploring the snow. We made marks in it and talked about how it felt when we touched it. It was very cold but we wrapped up in our coats, hats and gloves to keep us warm.

We have spent a lot of time in home corner using real coffee, tea and sugar. we enjoyed mixing the ingredients together and filling and emptying cups and bowls. We also used our motor skills to cut up real carrots, cucumber and banana. We tried really hard and did very well. We talked about eating lots of fruit and vegetables to keep us healthy.

We have been exploring different shapes and making models and pictures with them. During this activity we were able to recognise lots of shapes and colours. We have been doing lots of building this month and we have used our imaginations to make towers, footballs, jungles and farms with the pegs, magnetic shapes and foam bricks.

We have had fun exploring the play dough, rolling and squeezing it with our hands which helps to develop our muscles.

January has been lots of fun and we have learnt lots of new things!
