December in the Toddler room!

This month we have been making a variety of Christmas crafts to take home for our families. We used resources such as pens, glue, paint and glitter to create lots of patterns and marks. We talked about Christmas and what we think might happen “ be good girl” “presents” “cards” “enormous Christmas tree and lights”. We also made Christmas cards and Santa lists, we used pencils to write and draw what we might like for Christmas. We then posted them in the letter box to Santa that we made out of red paint, glue and cotton wool.

We also read our story of the month “The Gingerbread Man” and decided to make our own Gingerbread Men out of play dough, raisins and shape cutters. We used number language to count the “eyes, nose and buttons” and took part in imaginative play, retelling the story.

We explored a textured farm tray, happily playing alongside side each other and having short conversations, we took turns with the resources and enjoyed singing “old McDonald” when holding the animals.
