May in the Babyroom!
We have had lots of fun exploring mud, sand and water this month. We’ve been developing our gross and fine motor skills by doing some mark making with mud. Using paint brushes we made various sized lines using up and down brush strokes.
We have had lots of fun in the sand and the water. We transferred the sand into the water and water into the sand using different sized containers while using simple language such as “dry”, “wet”, “big”, “small”.

We have been showing lots of interest in the home corner. We have been using spoons to pretend to feed the babies and then wrap them in blankets and rock them to sleep. Auntie added some hair brushes to the activity. We brushed the babies hair and then we went to the mirror to watch as we brushed our own hair.

We helped auntie make playdough! Using our filling and emptying skills we helped add each ingredient to the bowl and then we each took turns in stirring it. When the playdough was ready we used rolling pins and playdough cutters to make lots of different shapes and patterns.

Lastly we had so much fun playing with the farm tray. Using our pincer grasp we picked up pieces of the brown cereal and transferred them into the “duck pond”. We noticed that the water had turned brown. We placed the pig and cow in the water and bounced them up and down, we loved seeing the water splash.
