March in the Toddler Room!
This month the children have shown a lot of interest in flowers and spring !
We placed our daffodils in the water and made sure that they were in sunlight so they could grow. We continued to observe and water them until they opened. We then decided to plant them in the mud kitchen, placing mud, water and the daffodils into containers. We then made flower soup, showing good control and accuracy when transferring water to different containers. We used lots of exciting vocabulary and shared play ideas.
We then painted our own versions of daffodils using yellow and green paint. We made various marks with the paint brushes and we smiled proudly as we showed our friends what we had created.
We also made mothers days cards using celery and paint, when printing them they created some lovely flower patterns.
We celebrated pancake day, creating our own pancakes using pens and paper. We then engaged in some role play, using our imaginations to “cook” the pancakes in the home corner using the “ingredients”.
Lastly we explored the outdoors, taking turns with the red dome, rocking our friends and singing nursery rhymes. We also enjoyed bathing the babies, talking about self care and hygiene.
We have had a lovely month of learning, following the children’s interests
