December in the Toddler room!
This month we have been very crafty making lots of things to go home, we decorated our bags with Christmas shapes and used foamy paint to make a card. We did some gluing and sticking to make tree decorations. We painted our own master pieces that we put on card and Auntie laminated for our Calendar.
We played in porridge oats which we mixed with glitter and added to bags to make reindeer food. We helped to put all our creations in a bag to take home.
It has been very frosty so we have been exploring the frost, we liked picking it up and showing everyone.
We have been looking at different Christmas books and pointing out the characters, such as reindeer, elves and Santa.
We have made some edible treats, we made chocolate Christmas shapes and added sprinkles. We looked at the shapes being a stocking, a present, a star and snowflake. We also used melted chocolate to make a Baby Jesus cake. We crushed up shredded wheat and mixed in melted chocolate and added it to our cake cases, we selected a jelly baby to represent baby Jesus in the manger.
We have explored Christmas pasta and looked at the colours and shapes, including presents stars and trees.
We have also been singing and dancing to Christmas songs, making up our own moves and words.
