October fun!
Happy Halloween!
This month we have been exploring all things Halloween. We have shown lots of interest in pumpkins. We first explored the inside, feeling the texture of the slimy seeds. We counted how many seeds we could see and talked about their size too.
We talked about how pumpkins grow and created our own pumpkin patch in the mud kitchen. We dug up the pumpkins out of the mud and arranged them in size order. We collected them in buckets and transported them around the garden to our friends.
We made marks on the pumpkins using bright coloured paint and then used the green, orange and black paint to make our own version. We found some apples in the kitchen and we noticed that when we cut them in half they looked like a pumpkin shape. We mixed together red and yellow paint to make orange and placed the apples inside and printed them on paper.
